Preston Donaldson completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Florida in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Neural Engineering and a minor in Electrical Engineering. He received his Ph.D from the University of Minnesota in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Neuroengineering. His doctoral research explored the use of inkjet-printed transparent microelectrode arrays in multimodal neuroscience studies. He completed two years of postdoctoral training at the Center for Microsystems Technology before joining the Neural Waves group where he is now engaged in developing processes for integrating optical elements into implantable devices.
